History/Story of the Organization

STEP was initiated by Adnan Javeed, back in July 2012 when he observed those poor families, especially widows who had no means of earning and needed food to survive. In its initial two years, the organization focused on addressing the issue of hunger, diligently distributing food to impoverished families in need. Recognizing that merely providing food wasn’t truly addressing the underlying causes of poverty, a shift in charitable strategy was contemplated.

Consequently, in 2014, the organization embarked on an innovative path by introducing an interest-free microfinance program. This visionary approach aimed to empower individuals, enabling them to break free from the shackles of poverty. As their efforts continued, the significance of education became increasingly apparent. To this end, a scholarship program was established, offering support to academically excellent students facing financial constraints.

In a recent milestone achievement in 2022, STEP took its commitment to education a step further. A specialized scholarship program UpSkill Pakistan was launched, dedicated to sponsoring college education for students pursuing degrees in engineering and IT-related disciplines. This new initiative underscores STEP’s unwavering dedication to fostering academic pursuits. Over the years, the organization has invested a substantial sum of at least $50,000 into its education initiatives. This financial commitment serves as a testament to the tangible impact STEP is making in the lives of aspiring individuals, families, and communities at large.
